What is considered an 'active' client?
When you start to provide care to a client, you can invite them to Hello Midwife and they start to count as an active client. Once their care is complete, you can remove them from your practice and their conversation will be archived.
So if my client is no longer 'active', they won't count against my limit?
Correct. Once you remove a client from your practice, they will no longer count against your limit.
How secure is Hello Midwife?
The system was designed by ex-big tech engineers who have worked on some of the most critical systems in the world. We use minimum of TLS 1.2 encryption for data in-transit and data is encrypted at rest in the cloud. We also have a lot of security controls that are comparable to infrastructure used by banks.
Will I be HIPAA-compliant if I use Hello Midwife?
We have designed Hello Midwife so that you can remain HIPAA-compliant with typical use. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to use Hello Midwife in a HIPAA-compliant way. For example, if you take screenshots of conversations and share them with others, that could be a violation of HIPAA.
Does Hello Midwife integrate with any EHRs?
Not at this time.
Are there any plans to integrate with any EHRs?
We are definitely open to it. It would take a partnership another company to make it happen.
Within a chat, what are all the features available?
There's too many features to name. Our goal is to make the experience as good as popular messaging apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. For example, if you long-press a message, you will see options that you would expect from modern social messaging apps.

Is there a limit to how many devices I can use?
No. Use as many devices as you would like. Today, we support iOS, and Android. We are open to supporting the web if there's enough demand.
